RUNZA® OPENS SECOND LOCATION IN KEARNEY

On February 14th, the 66th Runza® Restaurant opened in Kearney, Nebraska. The newest location is located at 815 2nd Avenue East.

A private, pre-opening party was held the evening of February 13th for stockholders, business vendors, employees and civic leaders. Kearney Chamber of Commerce Colonel members assisted with the ribbon cutting and applauded the decision to bring a second location back to Hastings.

Mayor Bruce Blankenship spoke of the "fantastic corporate citizenship" Runza® Restaurants has demonstrated throughout the years and Tim's extensive involvement as Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of the school board. Tim said, "Six years ago when I opened the Kearney North location, I didn't know anyone. Now I call Kearney my home and I can't imagine living anywhere else."

Renee Sjulin, Vice President of Runza® National, spoke about Runza®'s history in the Mid Nebraska and commented on the great local support represented at the event. "Kearney is a thriving town that continues to grow. We are pleased to open another location that will be convenient for residents of Kearney as well as interstate travelers through the area," said Sjulin. Renee described the impact the Higgin's family has made in Kearney and complimented Tim and Susie for their tremendous impact on Runza® Restaurants over the years as well.

Approximately 200 guests enjoyed their favorite Runza® Restaurant menu items at the opening party. All products were served, including Legendary Burgers, Ovenstuff'd Sandwiches and Runza®'s premium ice cream cones, shakes and sundaes.
